Our history
Artena was born out of a simple belief: a living wall deserves more than just dead plants. Xavier, Arnaud, and Véronique spent two years designing an irrigation system that makes living plants accessible to everyone, without any hassle.
Our Beliefs
We refuse to sell still lifes. Every Artena painting features a real plant—one that breathes, grows, and purifies the air.
The planter is made from recycled PP in Saint-Étienne. The acoustic panel is assembled in Lyon. We are located less than 100 km from our suppliers.
Recycled polypropylene, recycled PET felt, vermicompost substrate. We don’t just pretend to be eco-friendly. Complete transparency about our sources.
The Origin
While searching for a living wall for his apartment in Lyon, Xavier realized that 95% of the "living walls" sold in France are made of preserved or artificial plants—despite the promises. He decided to create a genuine living wall.
The real challenge: how can a vertical plant be self-sustaining for three weeks? A growing medium made of coconut fiber, perlite, and sphagnum moss is being tested with 12 different plant species. The drip irrigation system is patented.
The planter made from recycled PP is manufactured in Saint-Étienne—70 km from Lyon. The front panel made from recycled PET acoustic felt is designed and assembled in Lyon. The goal: ultra-short supply chains.
Artena Végétal is now accepting orders. 7 designs available. 2 sizes. Sets ranging from 3 to 9 pieces. And a desire to prove that plant-based decor and live plants can go hand in hand.

Made in France
Our Commitment
The planter (made from recycled PP) is manufactured locally, 70 km from our workshop.
The felt front panel is made from a material sourced internationally, then processed and assembled in Lyon using recycled PET (≥60%).
It is this honesty that sets Artena apart: no greenwashing, real figures, and verifiable supply chains.
Because a living wall should not hide its true nature or its origins.
The team
The project's initiator. Product design, production, sales, logistics. He was the one who came up with the idea of putting living things in a painting.
Customer Service. They ensure that every order goes smoothly, from start to finish. They always respond within two days.
The person who makes sure the paintings are always ready. She manages the workflow and inventory and ensures the quality of each piece before shipment.
